Intellectual Property Licensing
Success in licensing of patents and other intellectual property requires more than an understanding of the underlying technology. Bill Stempel has represented clients—both licensors and licensees—in more than 100 licensing transactions, and has acted as the business decision-maker in others. He offers skill and experience in negotiation and drafting, as well as an ability to understand the business and other interests of the parties to the licensing transaction and to think clearly about how a long-term licensing relationship will play out. As the former Deputy General Counsel of Yale University, he has special experience in university-industry technology licensing, in life sciences as well as other areas.
